Early round 3 was a good showing for ND who were not as strong as before but still a force to be reckoned with. Some new command people (eg. aviendha, ashknight) weren't as loyal as the old command, & at the end of round 3 they betrayed ND and left for DoM (a Legion junior alliance), causing significant damage to ND. It still had some old command but they weren't as active as they used to be.

At the start of round 4, ND didn't have many more then 10/12 people in the private channel. Because DZ (digitalzero) was the only one left in command and he went inactive, a new batch of people took the responsability for ND upon themselves. With people like Hardball, Riddim, Myrdhin and later on Orange in HC, ND came back to life in one of the worst rounds it had ever played. But the important part was that people were cooperating well again, a new website was being worked on and the command was filled with able and active people, so that recruitment started to pick up again and considering the means ND had it played a decent round and was ready to go into round5 as a force to be reckoned with again.

In round 5, with Furgion, the most damaging cartel in the history of PA, because of the inbalance it brought to the game which made a lot of people quit, ND command started to get more in touch with Xanadu. They were the strongest force in the game apart from Furgion. ND command hoped to help them out in trying to get on even foot with furgion. Another reason for the cooperation was the good ties between ND and xanadu since round1 and more importantly between Sith (our co-founder) and Sastul [Xanadu HC). Quite some ND were put in Xanadu galaxies which made the ties even stronger, while other people were in furgion galaxies, which didn't make life easy for ND players. All round ND was able to grow again and get involved into the politics of the game and through the merges with alliances such as ICD and YHQ over the rounds, ND had slowly become a real force in PA again.

NewDawn has played every round of Planetarion and often been represented in top blocks and alliance rankings. It was founded in round 1 by Sith and Stez. New Dawn's philosophy is "fun first" and they play the game with that idea first and foremost in their sights, contributing to a strong and active community.

Through building a strong core in round 1, ND became an elite alliance in round 2, with the highest average score (surpassing Concordium and Fury) until the war against WaC (We are Concordium) when cooperation with SK and F-Crew went wrong.

After the WaC war, NewDawn's competitive planets were effectively dead: some people went inactive while others stayed online to chat and prepare for the next round.

In that period there was a power struggle with coffee on one side, and Sith/Stez on the other. A split was emerging and the ND core decided to create a new alliance involving most good ND players & most of the former command (Sith, Stez, Odoric, Canker etc). The new alliance was to be called 'Inexorabilis'. It seemed to have a bright future with a number of the best planetarion players around; even before the end of round 2 there was active networking on forums & in channel. The idea was blown up by a few traitors and with this failure, a great part of the old ND command & core decided to reinstitute ND.

Early round 3 was a good showing for ND considering their serious losses. Some of the new command (eg aviendha, ashknight) weren't as loyal & at the end of round 3 they betrayed ND and left for DoM (a Legion junior alliance), causing significant damage to ND.

At the start of round 4, ND didn't have many more then 10-12 people in the private channel. With only one inactive commander (DigitalZero), a new batch of people took up the mantle of responsibility. With people like Hardball, Riddim, Myrdhin and later on Orange in HC, ND came back to life in one of its worst rounds. Despite a poor showing, ND survived with a new website under construction & competent commanders. With recruitment picking up, NewDawn was ready to go into round5 as a force to be reckoned with yet again.

Round 6 was colored by the entrance of Colcarpenter in command, former YHQ leader and some other strong ex-YHQ people. Colcarpenter left ND again later because he had another idea on ND then the old core people had in mind, but he surely was a positive influence in ND' s history. Politically round 6 was the round of FoS, Xan and FLTV. FoS was a cooperation between six alliances (hence fusion of six) to try and break the power of Furgion who had now made an even bigger block with Virus and ToT involved also. Fos was created partly under the intiative of ND-command in order to close the gap between the superpowers and the rest of the game. FLTV was finally beaten by fos-xanadu, which ended the worst period of stagnation in the history of PA. After that FoS and Xanadu stopped cooperation because command didn't want to make the same mistake again, and stagnate the game by creating a too large block. This allowed fltv back in the game with fury even taking top planet spots at the end of the round.

In PaX, NewDawn was able to step up, finishing third in Round 12, allied to the winners 1up. After a poor showing in the first half of Round 13, NewDawn merged with SiN to form SiNND who finished fifth.

After the severe beating of Round 13, the loss of many members to 1up, SiN joining Hydra and G-II de-merging it looked like NewDawn would collapse. However, the loyal core and several new recruits made a strong start with Gate and Flying_So-Low running the show. The_Fish and ReligFree later joined the HC team as Gate burned out. NewDawn first engaged the similarly sized Reunion in a rank war before swelling in size by absorbing members from the collapsed InSomnia, Hydra and Wolfpack. At the end of the round, NewDawn were crushed by 1up and their allies Reunion, finishing second.

NewDawn went into Round 15 with yet another HC change; Grog, h3ll, and Amon joining Flying_So-Low as HC. Grog's political maneuvring let NewDawn reach the top spot, but eXilition, helped by other alliances such as Subh and Vengeance were able to obliterate NewDawn's lead. Again, ND finished second.

In Round 16 a new council was set up, constisting out of cura, BA, Paddy and JDD. Grog took the BG DLR out of tag for the round but despite this loss, NewDawn were still able to compete. 1up defeated Subh early in the round, but NewDawn joined Subh's side and, frustrated by the dominance of XP, 1up began to weaken. The outcome of the war was never decided as Ascendancy tagged up and took an easy XP win leading to NewDawn surrendering the fight for first, eventually finishing 7th after tidying up its ranks.

Round 17 saw NewDawn ally itself with InSomnia early on to engage the leaders Omen. Indecisive leadership and the failure to prosecute a proper war on behalf of both NewDawn and InSomnia allowed the conflict to become bitter and drag on with no clear resolution. 1up hid a huge amount of score and by the time they tagged up, petty arguments between Omen and NewDawn/InSomnia allowed them to stroll to a victory.

NewDawn started Round 21 with only two HC, namely Barrow and cura. After losing quite a few members to Conspiracy and WolfPack, NewDawn didn't compete for the #1 position and instead aimed to rebuild for the future.

This rebuilding effort was successful as NewDawn won Round 24 and Round 25, in both cases narrowly beating Urwins and Conspiracy.
