Engineering existed in Planetarion from round 10 to round 20. It was replaced with Population and Governments in Round 21. This page is kept purely from a historical point of view and no longer contains any relevant gameplay information.
Description
Engineers are technicians on your planet, they can help improve aspects of your planet depending on your instructions. You can set a first, second, and third priority for them to focus on, with first priority receiving the most benefit, and third priority the least. The settings options, with bonuss are:
Mining
- 1st Priority - 15% bonus to all mining
- 2nd Priority - 10% bonus to all mining
- 3rd Priority - 5% bonus to all mining
Production
- 1st Priority - 50% production time
- 2nd Priority - 65% production time
- 3rd Priority - 80% production time
Construction
- 1st Priority - 55% construction time
- 2nd Priority - 70% construction time
- 3rd Priority - 85% construction time
Research
- 1st Priority - 15% faster research
- 2nd Priority - 10% faster research
- 3rd Priority - 5% faster research
Security
- 1st Priority - 15% stealth bonus 30% alert bonus
- 2nd Priority - 10% stealth bonus 20% alert bonus
- 3rd Priority - 5% stealth bonus 10% alert bonus
Note
The stealth and alertness indicators on the Covert Operations page will not DISPLAY these hidden security bonuses, but they are in effect. The security setting also decides how quickly you regain your stealth, and how high your alertness will be by default.
You can change the priorities of your engineers every 48 ticks.
Once started, your engineers can only affect things that are not already in process, for example they will not speed up a building under construction, but they will decrease the time needed to build others while the research priority Construction is active.
Your Engineers can only continue to improve part of your infrastructure while they are assigned to the relevant task. changing their priorities will start them off from scratch and any previous improvements will be discarded.
