A galaxy is a collection of planets in planetarion which share common x and y coordinates. Depending on the setup of the round, the number of planets in a galaxy can vary from 8 to 30. A galaxy can be either private, random or a mixture of the the two, allowing both private and random planets in.

The galaxy has significantly lower ETA for defence (currently ETA 5), and thus is the last line of defence for any planet. It is not possible to attack planets in your own galaxy, though this was possible in the early rounds of Planetarion.

A galaxy chooses Ministers, who are planets given special tasks within the galaxy. The Galactic Commander is elected and he chooses the other three. The following minister positions are available:

  • Galactic Commander
  • Minister Of Communication
  • Minister Of Development
  • Minister Of War
