Cayl says "STEL was largely the creation of their opponents. The 4 alliances in question had some pre-round talks about being a block, and this was almost immediately public knowledge. [[The Triad]] had no comparable opponents with the disbanding [[Concordium]]/[[WaC]] and [[Blue Tuba]] in round 2. When the mere rumour of STEL emerged, it was hyped up to the point where STEL had no choice but to work together even though they were utterly unprepared to do so. Even up to the end they were squabbling at the top levels about whether they were even really allied or not.
STEL's failure to come out strong and fighting led directly to the stagnation of round 3. This was further exascerbated by PACrew refusing to end the round and [[Fury]]/[[Legion]] refusing to break their alliance until an end of round date was announced. This months long period of stagnation led to a mass exodus of players and a weak showing at the beginning of [[round 4]]. The beginning of Pay to Play at [[round 5]] sealed this trend towards decline in Planetarion's community."
