Round Summary
Round 17 was won by 1up who used a controversial tactic, which was effectively eliminated after this round, whereby they kept their biggest members out of tag and used smaller barely played planets intag, thereby gaining the advantage of appearing to have a lower score than they actually did. Partially confused by this tactic the other competing alliances, Omen, NewDawn, Insomnia and Angels fought a number of bitter wars in the early and middle stages of the round. Thanks in part to these wars when 1up moved all their members into their tag a coherent front against 1up proved impossible and Insomnia, notably, and others assisted 1up as they hit the closest ranked alliance Omen taking huge numbers of asteroids off them in a few days, leading to a third round victory for 1up.
