NewDawn

NewDawn has played every round of Planetarion and has often been represented in top blocks and alliance rankings. It was founded in round 1 by Sith, Stew and Stez. New Dawn's philosophy is "fun first" and they play the game with that idea first and foremost in their sights. This has contributed to a strong and active community.
NewDawn is one of the oldest of all the alliances, dating from Round 1. Many members from the very early days of NewDawn still remain.
In recent rounds, NewDawn has made new friends and stepped up a bit, finishing third in Round 12, allied to the winners 1up. After relatively poor showing in the first half of Round 13, NewDawn livened things up again for its members (and perhaps for the game) by merging with SiN to form SiNND.
Between Round 13 and Round 14 NewDawn suffered a bit of a crisis. G-II decided to de-merge from NewDawn (they had merged in a much earlier round), and several other members including one HC decided to join 1up. For a while it looked to some like NewDawn would cease to function as an alliance, and most of the universe had written off their round 14 chances. However, the core membership made a very good start to the round, not least due to sterling work from the HC Gate, The_Fish, Flying_So-Low and Spritfire; and after a series of other alliances disbanding or collapsing against the winners 1up, NewDawn ended up finishing 2nd. During the round they took in a lot of new members, mainly from the alliances of Wolfpack and Insomnia, as well as SiN members formerly playing with Hydra; increasing membership from about 40 to over 80 members.
