A newbie is a player, often new to Planetarion, who has little command of the game. Often they will not understand shipstats or not have an alliance. The term newbie typically differs to that of n00b; the former is a description that merely refers to one's newness to the game, the other is (generally) a derogatory remark typically leveled at experienced players who should know better.
