, the major point is the reason of cisnlog eyes. If it makes no difference cisnlog eyes or not like you said, then why must he close his eyes? The similarity of Kenshin & 修介 are both hopelessly weak and wanted to pull all their remaining efforts w/o any distraction when they do their final attack. They just left it to the God/fate when they blindly attack. Maybe this still not justify their reason of cisnlog eyes, but I think both of them were in similar situation and had similar reason to do such blind (but stupid) attack
