Hydra was formed in 1999 in Planetarion round 2, as an alliance that was setup mainly as a defencive alliance. Hydra became a very strong alliance and was able to cover all attacks on their members. Hydra specialized early on in taking in new players and teaching them how to play and welcoming them into the community. Something which still stands today.

Then PA introduced their pay to play system, Hydra with many other alliances quickly lost members and even part of the command team. Hydra battled on, leaving only the core players in the alliance. The old core began to reconstruct Hydra back to its former image. After a short couple of weeks Hydra was bursting with activity once more. Hydra began to look for a new home which brought Hydra to Planetia, unfortunately Hydra lost many of its core members in the transition, but continued on none the less in their new home.

Hydra continued its long and proud tradition throughout many rounds in planetia. But like Planetarion, the alliance politics were ruining the rounds for the Hydra members, thus merger talks began with Omen. These talks resulted into a merger which brought in new top gamers and transformed Hydra Alliance into Hydra Multi Gaming Community. Hydra now competitively plays several games, with a large and experienced member base going for topranks in all games they play.

Hydra proceeded to play Planetarion round 13 as a battlegroup inside Wolfpack, eventually splitting ways. An attempt to form a full-blood alliance crumbled in round 14.
