Round 19 ends with eXilition winning yet again, Ascendancy springing a galaxy win with 9 in-tag members in the galaxy.

Tis the season to be merging, fa-la-la-la-la etc. 3 Notable mergers occurred during the round. eXilition springing the fact that they were trying to win the entire way through with a merge with their puppet alliance Nihilum of 7ish members. Post|Mortum had some major internal issues and ended up merging with Vision with whom a fair chunk of the individual player bases knew each other anyways, so this sounded like it was good for the communities, and finally the one that threw everyone for a loop, Omen merging with Angels to take the top spot later in the round. They were not able to hold it however, and NewDawn eventually took over the top spot, later to be de-throned by eXilition despite a combined effort by a few of the top 10 alliances to take a chunk out of them. Too little too late comes to mind, and eXilition managed to hold onto their spot for their second consecutive win.

Notable incidents throughout the round include:

  • Angels, Vision, Tides of Fire blocked together for the first part of the round
  • NewDawn and LCH were also together, and NAP'ed eXilition early on
  • (someone please let me know about the lower top 10-12 alliances. I have no idea :/)
  • Angels command unfortunately crumbled, and they deemed it necessary to merge with omen in order to save//improve their community
  • Post|Mortum also unfortunately caved and merged with the like-minded Vision community under the vision tag
  • A number of ND people being careless with their fleets and suiciding them into random people, probably a fair reason in why they didn't win.
  • eXilition not being able to figure out how to count to 72. An incident involving the ending of a NAP between exilition and NewDawn resulted in eXilition being stiffed 24 hours notice. Noone noticed until after the fact.
  • Mactanzu of eXilition successfully making a royal idiot out of himself in attempting to brag at NewDawn's losing. ([1])
  • Furious Omen, NewDawn, and a fair number of others not putting up enough of a fight to de-throne eXilition. It has been suggested to me that Furious Omen were the only ones with 'balls' enough to attack exilition. Some controversy ended up on the AD forums, as many saw the merge as an attempt to "win" similar in a sense to the arguably unjust elysium win via recruiting way back in the day. Many were unhappy with this scenario, and decided to give Furious Omen the pasting that they did or did not deserve for the merge.
  • One of the closest, probably more exciting rounds of late, furthest from stagnation or blockwars politics.
  • aNgRyDuCk of NewDawn creates a rather amusing thread on AD which involves a choice for them of either shoving a pineapple up the rectum, or whacking them repeatedly with a crowbar. While comical, this was viewed as something of a joke of the round, albeit summed up the situation that Furious Omen appeared to be in at the time.
  • Merging becomes an annoyance for more players, and more speak out against this particular subject
  • Some annoyances why eXilition was allowed to have an 'extra' alliance, but the multihunters told NewDawn that NewDawn wasn't allowed.
