Arbiter

An arbiter is a device for checking whether some given coords are valid targets or not. The name comes from Legion's first such device, a webpage that was simply called "the arbiter". Web interfaces continue to be commonly used for arbiters, as they offer the easiest combination of database access, secure login and logging of look-ups. More recently, arbiters have been integrated into IRC bots more often. Advanced arbiter features include integration of intel and the dumpfiles.

The ingame alliance tools currently feature an arbiter as well, with galaxy screen integration and the ability to set relationships with other alliances, as well as the ability to form binding NAPs.
