Battleship

The latest in warfare technology, this is the most heavily armoured vessel of its kind, earning it the nickname 'The Flying Fortress'. Heavily fortified with weaponry, the Battleship prototype 'The Alamo' withstood attack from raiding Destroyer squadrons in the Obsidian Nebula assaults for over a week before being critically damaged. Using the old recoil system turrets was deemed necessary, but each was fitted with plasma accelerators to increase power output, and the inclusion of updated EMP surge detectors greatly improved the vessels defensive capabilities against an EMP based attack. The vessels armour was also greatly increased due to a new metal/crystal compound in the shield structure, making it twice as strong as anything used before. A very expensive craft, but well worth it.
