BlueTuba Newsletter

Patrician briefly toyed with the idea of a newsletter to be dispatched to the BlueTuba membership by email. This was intended to improve communication between command and membership. Ultimately he couldn't be arsed; so here is the only copy (which was never sent) from Round 4:

Ooooomph!

Introduction

Concerns had been expressed that the membership was not being given enough information by Tuba HC, so QueenDax suggested some kind of “newsletter” to be distributed to the member base. Hence every week a document similar to this one will be emailed to all members, it may evolve as suggestions flow in. It can stick to being purely factual, or we can add some elements of humour and fun to it – Depending on what you want. One thing is certain though, unlike the Planetarion newsletter – this one will have a grip on reality.

Round 4 Overview

We are now at the end of round 4, a round in which we have accomplished a great deal – Both politically, and militarily. The HC made the decision to become actively involved in the VeX v Fury war at an early stage – Taking a stand on the Fury side prompted in part by VeX attacks on known Tuba galaxies. Despite odds heavily weighed against us we maintained that position – And didn’t let Fury down by jumping ship when times got rough.

-etc etc etc-

Relations for Round 5

  • New Dawn: New Dawn took the decision to downgrade the alliance to a NAP for reasons unclear to us. Indeed one member of their governing council and several high ranking members weren’t even aware of the cancellation – Let alone the reasons why. BlueTuba HC decided to cancel the NAP at the end of round 4, as a NAP with NewDawn is not beneficial to us, and we had always seen the alliance moving a step up, rather than down. In truth our two alliances were drifting apart, with Tuba taking a stance in the VeX v Fury war – While ND stood on neutral ground.
  • hirr: The hirr NAP is still in force, closer ties are not expected however.
  • Fury: Due to our successful NAP this round, Fury offered an alliance proposal to Tuba, which we have accepted. Hence next round Fury will be considered full allies, and we will work at strengthening ties between our two alliances.
  • Wolfpack: With the pro Tuba alliance Out Of Order (OoO) merging with Wolfpack, bonds between our two alliances should become stronger. For round 5 Wolfpack will be allied with Fury and BlueTuba – Hence this rounds “joke” tag [WTF]. Whether we will be using unified tags in round 5 has not yet been decided.

Talks have been held with Legion and Elysium to discuss relations next round and a strategy for dealing with the NoS/Xan threat. A proposal for a NAP between WTF and VE has been suggested for round 5, and agreed to by all sides with the exception of Tuba. We wish to consult the membership over this issue before committing ourselves, as we are in a unique position due to past events. It seems odd that we took a stance at the start of round 4, which has now been rendered useless. However the HC is of the opinion that this NAP would benefit Tuba more than hinder it, as it would offer us our first stable political position since early round 2, and would certainly promote alliance growth due to the multitude of free targets.

If you have concerns or questions regarding the above proposal – Speak to a member of the HC on IRC, or tubamail the HC user group.
