Lokken's logbook

Episode 1, 5th April, PT 139

This logbook (located here) will be updated intermittently (by me) to show how the round is progressing politically and who indeed is winning, losing and progressing over time. Hopefully instead of rumour and recollection we can have a real track of how a round progresses.

So here we go with the state of play in day 6, at PT 139.

  1. Wolfpack 99 24.0k 14.1M 23% 6%
  2. Howling Rain 96 23.6k 12.8M 20% 4%
  3. LCH 82 20.9k 11.8M 22% 10%
  4. EXilition 59 18.6k 10.8M 33% 17%
  5. NewDawn 79 19.1k 10.2M 19% 6%

Wolfpack and LCH seem to have made impressive starts to the round, HR holding themselves 2nd on sheer weight of numbers at this stage (they have a 10k per member lower average than WP). NewDawn holding their classic position on the cusp of the top 5. Exilition are making a fantastic debut with an average far superior to any other alliance, and are top 5 with a compact memberbase.

Outside the top 5, 1up and debutants Angels sit in the top 10 with a solid average and compact memberbases. Tides of Fire would probably be quite happy with 10th and comeback kings ToT and hirr sit at 12th and 13th respective with membership below 50 each.

Hopefully i'll try and keep track of any major political moves and combat reports (this will probably be more relevant near the close of the round) but any possible help from you kids in pm on the forum or IRC would be fantastic.

Episode 2, 8th April, PT 217

Top 5 Alliances

  1. 1 WP 99 32.5k 26.4M 21% 13%
  2. 2 HR 97 30.9k 23.7M 17% 9%
  3. 3 LCH 87 28.1k 22.9M 18% 7%
  4. 4 NoS 91 25.2k 19.7M 18% 8%
  5. 5 EX 60 19.8k 19.5M 15% -4%

Day 9, PT 217.

Not much change in the top 3 except for WP starting to build a little on their lead with a spectacular night of roiding. NoS, although there on sheer weight of numbers due to being 9th on average score in the top 10 do seem to have a pretty impressive average roidcount, and with time on their side have time to fly up the rankings.

The main talking point is the conflict breaking out between Exilition and 1up (currently 6th) having both lost roids last night and looking to have hurt each other quite badly. Otherwise, ND have slipped to 7th but are recovering after a tough couple of days with a bumper recovery. Angels and ToT though 8th and 12th respectively at this stage are 2nd and 3rd in average score so far, so don't rule them out by any means.

Episode 3, 12th April, PT 302

Top 5 Alliances

  1. 1 WP 99 39.4k 41.5M 6% 4%
  2. 2 HR 97 33.8k 35.9M 7% 5%
  3. 3 LCH 88 31.2k 34.1M 5% 2%
  4. 4 EX 60 30.7k 33.7M 3% -2%
  5. 5 1up 76 24.4k 31.5M 4% -3%

WP seem to be screaming away, and on the periphery of the main conflict. HR have stabilised and seem to be establishing themselves in 2nd. And as you can see, the usual suspects 1up are in the top 5.

Talk is of a major war between 1up and its allies and LCH/Angels/Exilition, whether they are allied is open to discussion and certainly not set in stone. In the past few nights since i last spoke ND (now 8th) have been taking a battering, with 1up either doing very well or getting hit very hard indeed. Tonight however they've chipped away at EX but their major success have been on Angels, who seem to have taken a right spannering (over 18% loss on tick 304), but they're sitting in 7th, so i'm sure they can come back. NoS in 6th, VGN in 9th and ToF in 10th make up the rest of the top 10. Although outside the top 10, ToT in 11th might have a small membership but are 3rd on average score, so I wouldn't rule them out having some hand in the conflicts of round 13.

Episode 4, 18th April, PT 430

  1. 1 WP 96 48.2k 68.7M 5% -1%
  2. 2 LCH 93 42.6k 62.8M 8% 8%
  3. 3 HR 94 38.6k 58.6M 9% 10%
  4. 4 EXi 61 29.4k 54.8M 8% 9%
  5. 5 1up 83 25.8k 53.4M 3% -16%

And after a few days of 1up and company having it their own way, 1up have been on the end of a right spanking, although they can easily get back up to 4th with one night's good roiding. WP have slightly extended their lead, but in the past few days there's been a stunting in their growth. LCH's influence on the round has increased as they cruise up into 2nd place.

We seem to be entering a phase whereby we have 3 blocks all heavily paranoid of each other's success and seem willing to try and outroid each other by picking the best targets. Occaisonally one seems to guess wrong, and gets hurt badly. This round seems to be rapidly turning into one of attrition, but we haven't really got far enough for ships to have a big enough effect and see who's mining all their roids to say who's winning the war.

Outside of the top 5, ToF roar up into a fantastic 7th for them, ND in a disappointing 9th will be out for revenge and Angels after some form of political backtrack on their recent declaration of war seem to be coming back from the dead in 8th.The other fact of note is the M.I.L.F. alliance who are happily bobbing in 43rd.

Episode 5, 20th April, PT 501

Todays data is provided by Sandman's as it's much easier for me to paste and features average roid count, average score, total number of rocks and total score. Roid gain is now the left hand % column.

  1. 1 WP 99 596 901,779 59,027 89,276,130 1.9% 4.8%
  2. 2 LCH 92 513 852,712 47,226 78,449,469 2.9% 5.5%
  3. 3 HR 94 528 812,333 49,606 76,359,337 10.3% 8.4%
  4. 4 EX 61 548 1,121,560 33,443 68,415,146 16.8% 7.7%
  5. 5 1up 84 327 757,404 27,496 63,621,921 8.2% 5.9%

War rages on, we've seen the first signs and admissions of burnout on the forums, and after days of 1up/NoS/ND getting relentlessly hit, we see an odd day in Planetarion. Today's major sufferers have been the smaller names in PA. ToF (7th), Veneratio (11th), ToT (12th) and SiN (13th) have taken beatings ranging from 5% for ToF to 13% for Veneratio. Veneratio were however, excellent targets (they were 7th on total roids beforehand) which might well explain the rather heavy loss in this frenetic round searching for roids - they might well be harbouring ambitions for the top 10 if they can get their act together tonight and the rest of the round.

The top 10 is mostly unchanged, with VGN currently propping it up in 10th. Of the alliances outside the top 10, APA (17th) and VsN (13%) have had bumper days with gains of 8% on roids and that will no doubt be a great morale boost for both of them. Newly merged alliance PBK Gobi lie in 26th position currently, but might yet well be waiting for members to come under the tag.

Episode 6, 26th April, PT 647

  1. 1 WP 99 719 1,352,366 71,159 133,884,216 1.8% 4.7%
  2. 2 LCH 90 563 1,226,257 50,671 110,363,110 -0.8% 2.3%
  3. 3 HR 91 534 1,201,034 48,609 109,294,063 -1.0% 4.4%
  4. 4 EX 60 685 1,595,967 41,077 95,758,003 9.8% 5.5%
  5. 5 NoS 92 448 1,010,174 41,170 92,936,037 4.9% 5.7%

And Wolfpack keep pulling away relentlessly. While LCH and HR get scratched today, the big losers are 1up/NewDawn/Tides of Fire. NoS have crept up into the top 5, which i'm sure they are happy with. First of all, a big up to Tides of Fire who were in the top 5 a few days ago - I was mighty impressed and you should be pleased with yourselves.

Outside the top 5, 1up and ToF lie 6th and 7th respectively, Angels 8th (recouping after some previous losses today) and NewDawn 9th. On top of that, Veneratio have kept their promise at becoming top 10, with 10th. Lower down, Coven have overtaken hirr to take 15th. In 37th we see the most popular of all alliances, the PA team themselves. They should be doing better, considering it's their game ;)

Episode 7, 2nd May, PT 782

  1. 1 WP 95 636 1,693,385 60,419 160,871,608 -6.3% 0.6%
  2. 2 EX 62 838 2,185,656 51,934 135,510,690 -13.2% 2.7%
  3. 3 LCH 83 661 1,630,819 54,828 135,357,961 1.5% 1.9%
  4. 4 HR 89 534 1,513,753 47,524 134,724,060 2.3% 2.4%
  5. 5 NoS 91 534 1,342,307 48,593 122,149,893 5.1% 5.5%

Quite simply, a big day in round 13. After days of not very much happening, someone takes the round to EX (who do rise to 2nd) and WP. In 6th, 1up have made big gains (8%), ToF 7th, Angels 8th. The big disappointment this round so far has been ND - to be 10th must be pretty disappointing for them, having been displaced by Veneratio who after good continued gains go 9th. ND will be looking for a good finish to the round to gain ground. VGN in 11th have lost ground and ToT are 12th.

This might be some turning point in the round - I have to say to take off that much off the top 2 alliances is certainly an impressive assault. LCH are quietly going about their business in 3rd, and they must be pretty happy with affairs as they are if WP continue to lose so heavily. If you are looking for an alliance to join, Please Join Me! in 24th might be a place to start?

The biggest news are that SiN and ND have merged into 3rd position as SiNND, and the round is now wide open, with EX or WP looking like the likely winners previously. A recent attack on the #1 planet sucked up a lot of defence and the result is that EX (-14%) have been stuck it bigtime. 1up will be looking to get ahead of angels, and bring themselves back in, as much as it might look beyond them, you wouldn't rule anything out.

So we're into the final run-in, and the round has had new life breathed into it, however contraversial the merger is. Outside of the top 10 ToT are in 11th, VGN 12th and VsN 13th. F-Crew are coming up with a great performance in 16th, which is admirable considering their recruitment strategy of trying to develop players.

Episode 10, 13th June, End

First of my apologies for not updating the logbook. This was due to my law exams and not really having the time to keep proper track of the game and not really being in the mood to do anything afterwards. Hopefully I've done fine and all will be well. Many thanks to those who sent me their best wishes via the rep function.

Exilition in the end ran away with the round, making the most of their value/score to be worthy winners. Angels have certainly made a name from themselves, recouping on their early error to play a very shrewd political round and land their way to 2nd. NoS took a more un-orthodox and devisive approach to gain 3rd, via the use of NAPs and picking fights that they knew they could win.

Outside of the top 3, LCH have been very solid once again, landing 4th. SiNND have had a dissapointing round in 5th and i'm sure they will be looking to perform a lot better next round considering they needed to merge to get there. WP finish 6th, with 1up (who have experienced a bloody battling round) and ToF not far behind them in 7th and 8th. HR finish disappointingly 9th, and Veneratio should be satisfied with their 10th position.

However the stars for me outside the top 10 have to be ToT, F-Crew and APA. ToT despite having 40 members have had a phenomenally high average which is a great achievement, and I'd personally give them my alliance of the round award. VGN and APA are probably more satisfied with their averages more than their rank and will be looking to gain a more solid finish next time round. Tailing behind are F-Crew in 15th who have spent another round cultivating PA's players of the future and hirr have slipped to 18th after their infamous lemming run

For the record, I didn't play most of this round, I signed up for the last week on a freebie, here's my planet details for those who care (probably none)
