Waves is the name of the page used to gather information on other planets through the use of scans. You must have built at least one Wave Amplifier on the construction page to be able to use scans. The more amps you have, the better the chances of your scans getting through. Similarly, the more Wave Distorters you build, the lower the chance of scans getting through on your planet.

Initially, you will only be able to use Planet Scans. You can have your planet's scientists develop new scans on the research page.

Storage

If your account is paid, your scans will remain stored on the Planetarion server for 2 weeks and can be accessed on the waves page. If your account is unpaid, your scans will only remain stored for 2 ticks. You can share scans with other people by giving them the link to the saved scan.

Available scans

Planet scan

The planet scan returns general information about a planet, such as a breakdown of the roids and how many resources it has stockpiled. It also includes information about the number of guards and agents the planet has, as well as what the planet has in production for each factory type. The scan indicates whether production is light (less than 33% of total value in production), medium (between 33% and 66%), or heavy (more than 66%). This scan costs 1000 of each resource.

Landing scan

This scan displays the number of attacking/defending fleets at ETA 1. It only works if you have a fleet that's 1 tick away from the target, either attacking, defending or returning. It ignores distorters. This scan costs 2000 of each resource.

Development scan

The development scan shows the constructions and the research level of the target planet. This scan costs 3000 of each resource.

Unit scan

This scan gives you an overview of all ships the target planet has, excluding cloaked ships. Unit scans have random interference on them of up to 20% higher or lower than the actual number. Therefore, the data returned will not be entirely accurate. This scan costs 4000 of each resource.

News scan

The News Scan will try to intercept news transmissions at the target planet. Due to the rate of news becoming available at another planet, it will not show any news entries from the last 3 ticks. This means that galaxy defence fleets only show up when your attack is ETA 1. when attacking to find out information on potential in galaxy defense a news scan must be done at eta 1. This scan costs 5000 of each resource.

Incoming scan

This advanced version of the Unit Scan can only be used on another planet when it has sent a fleet towards you. This will show the composition of the fleet heading to your planet. A incoming scan does not show specific cloaked ships except in total numbers at the bottom of the scan. This scan costs 6000 of each resource.

Jumpgate probe

This scan will reveal any fleets traveling to the same planet, both hostile and friendly. It will also show prelaunched fleets, but not how many ticks it'll take before they launch. This scan costs 7000 of each resource.

Advanced unit scan

This scan gives you an overview of all ships the target planet has, including cloaked ships. It is 100% accurate. This scan costs 8000 of each resource.

Scan success

For a scan to work, you must have more wave amplifiers than your target has wave distorters. You can scan members of your galaxy (but only if they've set that option) and alliance regardless of the nuber of distorters.

Alliance scanners

Several members of each alliance are usually designated as scanners. These are players who dedicate their round to doing scans. They will build a lot of amps and research scans before all else and answer scan requests from other members. This allows other players in the alliance to focus on researching hulls, travel time and heavy cargo transfers, without missing out on scans.
