Originaly split from ODDR r51 after around 500 ticks, and completed the round as a 14 man tag. The original split was the former 1up members in ODDR and a few others. Spore's first round as a stand alone alliance was R52 to which it recruited heavily and took on the Brazillian BG. These proved to be a weakness for Spore which brought the hopes for a Spore quick victory to a grinding halt. While Spore had gathered quick political acumen due to the experience of the former 1up HC's and general goodwill, it's internal membership due to the BG's was inefficient and self destructive.

For R53, the alliance was purged and kept small in order to rebuilt on the core values of Spore, bringing back players such as Killghost and Tortu. The latter achieving a top 3 planet for Spore which had aligned itself in a block with Conspiracy Theory. It is wildly accepted that the resistance of Spore at the end of the round towards Vikings is what gave Conspiracy the win as Spore proved to not be a easy mop up on Vikings to win.

During R54, the second of the two rounds with Bashar as chief behind politics, the alliance took a sharp u-turn on previous policies to extend a hand of friendship to Vikings and thus not set off the block wars from the beginning. Spore did not want to be typecast as always being enemies to Vikings, nor always being allies to Conspiracy and it was believed this would set the alliance up better for the future. Unfortunately, Conspiracy felt betrayed by this and the lack of Spore support verses Vikings in their war with them. Spore was slow to commit itself to any block war and only did so at the end verses Apprime. By that time it wasn't enough to topple Apprime and with quitters and such in Vikings bringing their rank down allowed Spore to finish #2.

R55 changed for Spore significantly in political leadership with Zhil taking the helm. Spore played a brilliant round in politics that isolated many of their enemies, including Ultores, allowing them to be destroyed, gathering Spore a small lead until they were hit en masse. With it's lead lost, Spore was able to once again reclaim #1 with a shift in politics but lost it at the very end to Faceless which had recruited hidden members in order to win. A last gamble from Spore had it attempt to strike at Faceless but it wasn't enough, leading to many frustrated in Spore for losing out on #1 at the very end. The Fallen fleetcatches on Spore also proved to be a vital component to Spore not achieving #1.

R56 played out very similiar to the previous round with the politics of Zhil centered around a strategy of divide and conquer for it's opponents. An early war with Faceless allowed Spore an early upper hand, as did a secret alliance with Vikings. An alliance which upset the balance of allies for Ultores. During the round, Spore was able to war with Ultores one on one (bar the random incomings) and take who Spore believed to be the most danger out of the number once race. It was not till Spore decided to defend it's ally, Insomnia, and not extend agreements with Conspiracy to where a block was able to form against it finally. The length of time it took to establish the block was due to both Spore and Viking politics designed to split resistance. When Vikings broke off from Spore to join the block against it, Spore had used it's time wisely to build up effective defenses. The alliance held against the mass of incoming to maintain its #1 rank with the help of FAnG/Faceless in fleetcatching Vikings. It was Zhil's belief that Vikings quickly lost motivation and the conviction to actually win and so the military efforts of the pro-Spore block focused on them (being #2 also) to keep Spore ahead. A key difference between this and last round was that Spore was far more disciplined, losing far less score in defense or crashes - a critical calculation to which Spore could have won R55 if it had better discipline in fleets.

Debate began within Spore to whether it should disband, to where the High Council agreed to disband only to pass the motion down to Officers. Key officers within Spore, including cr0, green cat and such voted no and a wish to continue and so Spore did, with the High Council passing it's normally restrictive powers down to the officers, opening up information to members so that the alliance could be governed by the membership. Officers were all but abolished as any member could run defence. Without firm leadership, the alliance quickly divided into differed opinions which led to internal issues that plagued the alliance throughout the round. Despite the politics benefiting Spore, many viewed the war with p3nguins as 'wrong' which led to a small minority causing issues within the alliance. Debate rages to whether Zhil was correct in sending Spore in against Ultores, but these people also lack the full picture to politics that spanned several alliances. Snowseal lost his #1 ranking due to the war, yet supported the decision to war against Ultores. The rumours of those who lost their ranking to the war being unhappy with the policy is largely hyperbole as Spore HC maintained open communication with those affected regularly.

After what was deemed a failure to devolve power down to the members, Spore command decided to disband at the end of R57.

[[Note from Zhil, Executive of Spore: It is important to note that the supposed "fallout" with Officers was on when they refused to follow High Council instructions. There was no being confrontational and it certainly was not a falling out with members who had provided a vital role and major impact in Spore development as was otherwise claimed. The only mistake was with the dealing of cr0, otherwise Spore policy was followed for any other instances.]]
