Talk:Intel Officer

I disagree with a decent portion of this text. There are references to specific actions that are presented as an intel officer's job, but much of this is just opinion text on how an intel officer should do their job. There's no objectivity; there are no reasons why there shouldn't be an intel officer in an alliance. I appreciate that you're adding the stuff from the mentor manual, alch, but I think you should process it a bit before you post. -Banned 18:50, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Oh, and I think it's way too wordy and reduntant. -Banned 18:50, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Once i will add more text, ill go thru all the text and see what need to be changed or not, hence why this isnt public yet. -Alch 20:38, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)

But it is public. You put it up here. -Banned 21:31, 11 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Suggested Intel Officer post:

An Intel Officer gathers information for his alliance. It is often also the intel officer's job to see to it that others don't acquire sensetive information from his or her own alliance. Some HC eschew having a seperate intel officer, prefering to keep the job at HC level.

Category:Terminology

In addition I'd suggest a Guide:Intel officer page or similar:

An Intel Officer's job is to gather information for their alliance. They have many tools available to complete this task. In addition some intel officers are required to keep tabs on their own alliance, to root out spies and plug leaks.

Identifying hostile planets

Though an intel officer is primarily concerned with hostile alliances, one never knows when an alliance will turn from friend to foe. Therefore an intel officer should seek as complete information as possible on who's who.

Securing one's own alliance

Infiltrating other alliances

Etc etc. (cba finishing this off atm)
