VNC

VNC stands for Virtual Network Computing. It's a server/client program which allows the client to take over the server's desktop. This can be very useful for Planetarion as it allows other users to take over a certain persons desktop and control his planet. Though its not allowed to share accounts its an easier and safer way to conduct this way of cheating.

Often VNC'd planets are scanners. It is very useful for a restricted group of people to have a shared always-available scan planet. Though VNC is easily detectable as it normally leaves port 5900 open. A smarter way to use vnc is by letting it connect on a less suspicious port like 21. Another solution is to setup a ssh-tunnel so the traffic is encrypted and less easy to detect.
