Planetarion and morals (Remember the Titans?)

Warning: long biased story written mostly in a first person perspective. The author is NOT Legion hostile, though the thread might seem so.

First a bit of background history: About a month and a half ago, I started working on a project together with some friends. It was what has later gotten known as Titans. This was supposed to be a last alternative in case Legion would continue on it's track, one we meant wasn't the right one. After a short gathering of information, and a conversation mostly between myself and Eol, we decided to pursue Deus Ex Machina and Patience as our allies, if we would in the end have to go down this road, which we never really wanted.

Now, after last rounds break between Elysium and Legion many legionnaires felt the "Strength and Honor" slogan wasn't worth the paper it was written on any more. Others just didn't like the idea of being allied to Fury... Most of these now gathered around Titans, together with other friends and players with similar thoughs on certain subjects. Since the alliance was mostly VERY friendly towards Legion, and was also part made based on the actions of Fury and the Fury friendlyness of Legion's HC, it was VERY hostile towards Fury.

The alliance was based on certain points;

  • Friendship and family feeling, something many felt had gone missing from Legion during r5. This part because of too low recruitment standards, but also because many players have grown selfish over the rounds. The will to sacrefice yourself just to save your friends or allies was no longer there.
  • Integrity, something most people felt Legion lacked after the way it treated it's allies during round 5.
  • Loyalty, to friends and allies. This is mostly a mix of the two earlier mentioned points, I guess...
  • Selflessness. Explains itself, and also explained in an earlier point.

These were the points as mentioned by one of their HC, the th0ng man himself; Rumad. What he did by doing this was voicing the thoughts of the rest of us. Another thing he mentioned was:

Political Affiliation: Alliances will only be accepted for long term mutual benefit. Offer of help will be extended to ensure the stability needed to ensure that they can grow and develop with us. However alliances of a like minded nature will be selected to ensure that our values are upheld and supported.

Now, after having drawn out certain guidlines on how the alliance would function, and what it would be based on, we went to work with getting ourselves some decent allies. With Deus just having started, and hirr being one of Eols favorites, the choice wasn't too hard. After he got sick though, it was. But with me telling them that something would happen soon, they survived on our side untill he got well again. (He was the only HC who was actually able to decide on anything). So, there we were... With allies and members, and with a newly started alliance....

Now that the background story is finished, let's skip till today (or I'd be sitting here for weeks, and you would just not bother reading it.

Only two days ago I had a long talk to Eol on the phone about a post on our forum. It was a reply to one where an offiser asked what alliances we would be allied and nap'ed to next round. According to that, we were currently allied to Deus and Patience, but they were still persuing an alliance with Xeta instead, and the thought of Furgion was also in the background. The original deal within the alliance was that we should try to get a nap to XETA to take down Fury, and whoever else would come in the way of that. This post utterly disturbed me, and I wondered if my friends were as unreliable as it showed. Eol said it was complete bull****, and that changing allies for an alliance that was based on honor and loyalty would be suicide for it's rumor. This all setteled me down a bit, and yesterday he posted it in the forum himself.

Today when got online I started talking to him. It turned out that JoV no longer wanted to be hostile to Legion, and so the entire alliance decided to jump ship and head back to the Furgion side.

My questions: What happened to the honor and loyalty you once bragged about? What happened to the principles the alliance was based on?

Also; what will now happen to the alliances that were meant to be your allies this round?

The fact that they are still not hostile to the thought of betraying their current allies mid-round disturbs me. Another thing they didn't think about is that they have as good as no shared galaxies with Furgion. What do you think will happen if you end up on the winning side?

This thread was probably some of the worst cr*p written on these forums EVER, but whatever.

Agamemnon signing out, while trying to pull the dagger out of his back. Don't believe the fight is over.
