Please welcome Arfy, HC of Veneratio. Ok Arfy, so what brought you to the wondeful world of PA? :P
well I was introduced to it by a friend in r2, and to be honest, at first I hated it. But it was him that kept me playing until r5 (I think) when we quit because we couldn't pay. At that point we had grown to enjoy it because we could attack together and defend eachother
What changed your mind?
what put me off most was the slow start, especially starting mid way into a round, but then I suddenly found the link to the login page in my favourites and came back to see r9.5 in full swing. So I signed up again and started playing
:) Did you start right away in an alliance?
nope, I didnt. I played as a noob until I landed in 4:9 with walken and cr0. In r10 that was.
Who was your first alliance and what made you join them?
elysium was my first in r10 and thats because walken and cr0 vouched for me and introduced me to irc
What made you leave ely?
walken got closed for exploiting a bug and the gal fell apart from there and we kinda got bored. And tbh I was out of order to ely and abandoned them and quit playing, again :)
Hehe. Then what happened? I mean obviously you started playing again :P
then I came back again, for the r11 beta and decided to try to mentor people, like walken had done to me. So I joined a lowly alliance, Dark Omen and just told them what I had been taught. Before I knew it, we were Veneratio and I was HC and a make-shift techie \o/ and thats my playng career :D
:) So what would you say was your greatest accomplishment?
getting ven into the top 10 in round 11. ven = veneratio for those who don't know :)
Have you ever cybered for defense?

ok, now I know we're on the same lines, no. But if you've spent more than half an hour in the private chans, it wouldn't be surprising if I had
lol. Who would you say has been your biggest influence? Is there anyone you look up to?
biggest influence was Walken, and definately Cr0. But Walken has disappeared and Im better than Cr0 in so many ways :)
Why?
because he took a gamble on me, I was willing to learn the game, yet still he devoted alot of time to me and thats what I think this game is all about, helping out the guys who deserve a mentor
Hehe. Do you have a favourite memory from PA you can share?
yes, but its not very interesting... my favourite memory was the first time I got alliance defence :) and it made me want to be a DC ;P
Have you ever backstabbed anyone?
hmmm unfortunately no, but its definately something I'd like to pick up Hehe.. lookout PA world! Arfy> :)
So even though the round hasn't started yet.. any thoughts/predictions on how it will play out?
Well I'm a bit confused as to which alliances are playing tbh, after all the announcements and retractions, but I still think that 1up have what it takes, and in my eyes they are the rolemodels and everyone has to follow in their footsteps militarily. But I also think we'll see some nice ongoing wars, all the way down the rankings and thanks to the stats made for this round, roid swapping will be alot more common
So do you think golden roids will add anything interesting to the game?
I hate the idea of golden roids but will admit I overreacted in my response to them. For the people that can be bothered to hunt them down, they will be alot of fun but from an alliance point of view, the holder will only be a burden to the defence resources
Ok.. I think that's about it.. any comments/words of wisdom you'd like to add?
nothing in the way of wisdom, but I'd like to see alot more people trying to help others out rather than just exiling out their randoms. I hold alot of appreciation for those that can be bothered to bring players into contact with the community
